Key Details:



  • Compensation : $16.00/hour, DOE
  • Start Date: 03/01/2024
  • End Date : 8/31/2024
  • Location: Cheyenne, WY or Laramie, WY



Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be:



  • Self-driven and motivated who can work well independently as well as in team environments.
  • The ideal candidate will have a passion for the outdoors and have either obtained or is currently pursuing a graduate degree/career in wildlife, environmental, biological, statistics, or a related field.



Essential Responsibilities:



  • Enter biological data into MS SQL, MS Excel, QGIS, or others as needed.
  • Various filing, scanning, archiving of datasheets.
  • Work cooperatively with and under the direction of the tracking & data team personnel.
  • Other duties as appropriate and assigned.
  • As experience grows:

    • Participate in more complex data entry,
    • Learn data QAQC procedures.

Job Requirements

Requirements:



  • The preferred candidate will be currently enrolled in college classes under an environmental or biological related science degree program.
  • Have a strong interest in working with natural resource data and databases.
  • Be capable of appearing for work on time as scheduled.
  • Be able to understand and follow instructions yet have initiative and confidence to ask questions, accept guidance and constructive criticism.
  • Understand how to use Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Be able to interact effectively with coworkers, maintain a positive attitude.
  • Have a highly developed ability to stay focused and pay attention to detail.
  • Be able to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Have an ability to think critically to solve problems.



Physical Requirements:



  • Sitting for long periods of time.



After an offer of employment is made, thecandidatemust successfully pass a pre-employmentbackground check,drug screening,and a DMV records check that meets WEST's minimum criteria to operate a motor vehicle on behalf of the company. A valid driver's license will be required. Candidates must adhere to all health and safety requirements.
