Position Summary

The College of Business at Metropolitan State University of Denver invites applicants for two full-time non-tenure track positions in our Department of Marketing to begin fall 2024. These positions are for one academic year with a possibility for reappointment subject to performance, the needs of the department, and funding availability. The University is particularly interested in applicants who have experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and a demonstrated commitment to improving access to higher education for under-represented groups.

MSU Denver enrolls over 17,000 students, where nearly 60% are first generation and over 55% are students of color. Responsibilities

As a teaching institution with small class sizes, MSU Denver emphasizes innovative, contemporary instruction and a nurturing and transforming educational experience. We are seeking candidates who illustrate (1) dedication to inclusive excellence in undergraduate teaching and advising, (2) the ability to maintain professional or scholarly credentials in the business field, (3) the ability to work closely with other marketing faculty to plan and participate in department activities and events, and (4) a willingness to engage in service at the Department, College, University, and community levels.

The successful candidate will illustrate the ability to teach a range of business classes including: Introduction to Business, Business Communication, as well as a range of marketing classes including Principles of Marketing. The teaching load is 12 credit hours (4 courses) per semester.

Required Qualifications

Faculty members will have the responsibility of maintaining their professional or scholarly credentials. The minimum credentials for professional experience includes:

  • Completion of at least a Master's degree in the field in which a faculty member is assigned to teach.
  • Professional experience that is current at the time of hire and that has been substantial in terms of duration and level of responsibility and clearly links to the field in which the faculty member is expected to teach. Normally to be considered substantial in duration and of a significant level of responsibility, the professional work experience shall have occurred over a period no less than ten consecutive years and has resulted in accomplishing increased levels of responsibility such that at a minimum the experience has included supervisory experiences.
  • If the Master's degree is outside the field in which the faculty member is assigned to teach, there is an increased expectation for substantial professional work experience in the discipline.

Salary for Announcement

The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $100,000 at Lecturer level. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based upon a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, education, experience, specialty and training.
