Woodward is hiring a Senior Operations Engineer at our Niles, IL location. This individual will be responsible for driving process improvements while using their mechanical aptitude and hands on approach to support the product value streams.

Woodward is hiring a Senior Operations Engineer at our Niles, IL location. This individual will be responsible supporting the New Product Introduction (NPI) and Sustaining Engineering for manufacturing with a focus on CNC machined and fabricated piece part.

What you will be doing...

  • Evaluate new designs and provide feedback for Design for Manufacturability.

  • Create cost estimates based on cycle time and material cost for CNC machined and fabricated components.

  • Collaborate with external suppliers with Early Supplier Involvement (ESI) to solicit feedback on capability and cost.

  • Evaluate supplier quotes compared to internally generated should cost models

  • Facilitate manufacturing of prototype parts through internal machine shop.

What we are looking for...

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical/science discipline required

  • 6 or more years of experience in a professional engineering related role OR a combination of experience and an advanced degree required
