About the Role

Based in New York and reporting to the Executive Vice President, responsible for overseeing a large financial services client. They will be responsible for working closely with senior agency resources, PR and marketing stakeholders on integrated campaigns across business units. This role will focus on consumer and corporate communication. Experience with finance clients is a plus. The role sits in the Ogilvy Public Relations Business Unit.

What You'll Do

Account Management:



  • Drive all aspects of client service including strategy, program development and execution for several campaigns
  • Maintain regular dialogue with VP of Communications and Public Affairs; N. American CMO and other senior leaders within the client's operation.
  • Ensure team is right-staffed and structured to meet client needs.
  • Coordinate efforts with client's HQ and as part of a global network.
  • Ensure that proper client-related financial procedures are followed.
  • Demonstrated ability to function at a vice president level demonstrated by:
  • Actively contribute to the growth and development of their respective agency practice area.
  • Effectively manages account teams to ensure that work and service is delegated to the appropriate experience levels within the team structure.
  • Leverages client relationships for benefit of the firm.
  • Develops the professional and management skills of team members; provides ongoing feedback and training opportunities for team.
  • Lends particular skills, capabilities or knowledge to assist managing directors in problem-solving on behalf of clients, teams or general management of the office.
    Is utilized as an agency resource and lends professional creativity to client and new business engagements.
  • Helps the firm to develop a positive image in the business community and other communities (e.g., media, political, interest groups) important to our professional performance.
  • Provides leadership in driving a positive work culture.
    Is a positive role model and mentor for others in the firm, specifically in the areas of people management and client service.


Financial/Administrative



  • Manages overall financial performance of account.
  • Leads efforts to develop and achieve company revenue and profitability projections.
  • When necessary and appropriate, intervenes with account teams and clients to address financial and billing issues.
  • Completes timesheets and otherwise acts in accordance with company policies and procedures.


Business Development



  • Identifies and develops new business opportunities.
  • Leads or otherwise participates fully in office/firm new business efforts.
  • Valued as a routine contributor of informed, analytical and strategic contributions to new program development.


People Management



  • Strives to motivate and inspire teams fostering an environment of trust, accountability, learning, growth and fun.
  • Helps company in efforts to recruit, hire, train and develop staff.
  • Manages overall performance assessment, training and development of relevant staff.
  • Conducts appraisals and career development counseling for direct reports.
  • Manages staff to maximize performance and productivity.


What You'll Need



  • Minimum of 12+ years of public relations experience, agency experience highly preferred
  • Previous experience leading and managing a team of public relations professionals.

The compensation for this position at the time of this posting is indicated below. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications. Pay Range
$100,000 $230,000 USD
