Responsibilities

  • Responsible for ensuring that all reusable supplies, such as, instruments, equipment, linen, and surgical supplies are properly decontaminated, assembled, inspected, packaged, sterilized, and distributed
  • Clean and disinfect the Operating Room or procedureal area between patients thoughout the day
  • Reprocess instruments in the Operating Room environment utilizing immediate use steam steriliztion or peracetic acid and maintain the standards of reprocessing at the level utilized in the Central Processing Department
  • Act as a resource for the Operating Room staff and all other departments within the hospital

Qualifications

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Certification by CBSPD or IAHCSMM required within 18 months of hire

Preferred Job Requirements

  • Previous hospital experience
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
