Position Summary:

The Power Of Music Initiative (PMI) seeks a talented and motivated individual with experience in research, education and communications outreach, and program administration, relevant to the music industry and/or social justice and/or sustainable development. The PMI seeks to create a unique and innovative space at UCI linking music and the arts more generally to social justice and sustainable development. The PMI will build partnerships on campus and in Southern California and also expand existing partnerships at three sites in Africa. Reporting to the Faculty Director of the PMI, the Program Director has overall responsibility for coordinating, developing, and strengthening the activities of the PMI. The incumbent will be responsible for developing activities and programs that encourage education and research--especially work that cuts across disciplines. They will also amplify the impact of the research through policy outreach and communications via traditional and social media and PMI's website, identify and cultivate new research and funding opportunities, develop and support activities that increase the cohesion of a research center that includes faculty across the university, promote the visibility of PMI at UCI and more broadly across academia, and oversee administrative and grants support. This is a 100% FTE career position with guaranteed funding for two (2) years. Continued appointment is contingent upon receipt of additional grant funding.

The Full Salary Range for the salary grade this position is assigned to is $66,700.00 - $118,500.00 (Annual Salary).
