Job Summary

Provide instructional and supportive services to the TCC Veterinary Technology Program. Work
with faculty and staff to provide a safe, positive learning environment for students.

This is a Safety Sensitive position pursuant to Oklahoma Statute OKLA. STAT. tit. 63, * 427.8 (2020). Marijuana, including medical marijuana, is not permitted. Position requires a background check and drug screening.

Essential Duties

Laboratory instruction, to include safety of students and patients, set-up and take-down, and field trips; tutoring of students.

Quality control of hospital equipment.

Inventory management (equipment and expendables).

Regulatory tasks (AVMA and USDA).

Maintain patient records (digital and hard copy), implement treatment plans.

Other functioning of the VT program as needed by the Program Director or faculty.


Minimum Qualifications

Associate's degree or equivalent education graduate from an AVMA-accredited school of Veterinary Technology or Veterinary Nursing.

Current and in good-standing: licensure by OSBVME (OK State Board of Veterinary MedicalExaminers).

3 years experience in a veterinary hospital setting.

Ability to work in a wide range of environments without distraction or loss of focus.

Ability to work in outdoor environments that include inclement weather conditions, and walking in pastures or other large animal areas.

Ability to work indoor environments that include one-on-one or group situations, and noisy environments (at times).

Current license in good standing with the State of Oklahoma required.

Philosophy compatible with that of a comprehensive urban community college.

Immunizations and testing required per School of Health Sciences and the VeterinaryTechnology Program. (tetanus, Covid-19, influenza, rabies (or titer) and annual TB testing. )


Preferred Qualifications

Five years or more experience in a veterinary medical setting.

Prefer member of OVTA or other professional associations.

Ability to translate Spanish.
