Your Opportunity

Smithfield Foods is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Analyst to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing financial analysis, reporting, and support to ensure accurate and timely financial information; this includes handling international letters of credit and collaborating with our global offices. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments. The Accounting Analyst will play a critical role in driving financial performance and supporting strategic decision-making within the organization.

Core Responsibilities

International Financial Operations:

  • Manage and process international letters of credit, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
  • Coordinate with international offices to gather financial data and ensure timely and accurate reporting.

General Ledger and Month-End Close:

  • Perform month-end close activities for international entities, including journal entries, account reconciliations.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of international general ledger accounts.

Financial Analysis and Reporting:

  • Prepare financial reports for senior management, highlighting key trends and insights.

Compliance and Internal Controls:

  • Support internal and external audits of international operations.
  • Maintain and improve internal controls over international financial processes.

Cash Management:

  • Monitor and manage cash flows related to international transactions.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to streamline international accounting processes and improve efficiency.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with international offices, supply chain, sales, and operations teams to support global business activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university in Accounting, Finance or related field and 2+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • SAP experience, preferred.
  • Knowledge of financial and business principles.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive and solution oriented.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong self-motivation and organization skills.
  • Displays professionalism and integrity.
  • Ability to influence change.
  • Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.

Salary Range

$47,500.00 - $71,125.00
