How YOU will make a Difference:

The Senior Manager, Architecture and Programs has the exciting responsibility of the planning, organizing, and execution of all application development functions. They manage the team providing software development, implementation, testing and Tier 3 support.

What YOU will do:

  • Develops a roadmap of the conceptual design for future changes to the architecture of IT solutions.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams and clients to ensure compliance with operational processes and define, design and deliver technology requirements, enhancements, and solutions that meet the needs of the company, its clients, and the end users.
  • Maintains records to document architecture and technology portfolio as well as revisions to these.
  • Researches, evaluates and implements new technology and industry trends to optimize operational efficiency, infrastructure flexibility, and operational stability.
  • May provide application programming interfaces (APIs) to business applications.
  • Guide and coach the architecture team, promoting a culture of excellence, creativity, and ongoing enhancement.
  • Formulate and execute architectural strategies and plans that align with business goals and technological progress.
  • Work with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, and design, to ensure consistency in architecture across projects and initiatives.
  • Direct the selection of architectural standards, frameworks, and tools that meet the company's needs and compliance requirements.
  • Supervise the design and implementation of high-quality, scalable, and sustainable architectural solutions.
  • Perform architectural evaluations and assessments, offering expert guidance to improve project outcomes.
  • Keep up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in architecture, using this knowledge to drive innovation within the company.
  • Set an example by demonstrating a commitment to excellence, ethical behavior, and the company's values.

Knowledge, Experience, and Key Attributes needed for Success:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Business Administration required.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in managing high performing teams required.
  • 10+ years of IT work experience required.
  • Understanding of architecture, scalability, availability and performance considerations as well as its impact on quality engineering.
  • Direct experience managing applications and/or systems management.
  • Excellent execution skills. Ability to achieve and measure results and progress.
  • Ability to work independently, plan, organize, prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Expert knowledge of system and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies.
  • Expert knowledge of SDLC, Agile/SCRUM best practices and methodologies.
  • Excellent project management and leadership skills with incredible customer service focus.
  • Knowledge of, or desire to learn, applicable data privacy practices and laws.
  • Knowledge of EDI preferred.
  • Experience with insurance industry and/or claims processing is preferred.
  • 7 years' experience in information technology, application development, or systems development which includes previous program or team leadership experience.
  • Leadership and management skills with an orientation for action and results, with a proven ability to build, manage, and retain high performing successful collaborative work teams.

Additional Preferred Technical Skills:

  • Design and/or development experience with .NET, C#, ASP.NET, Web Services, Message Queue
  • Strong background in object oriented development techniques, design patterns
  • Experience with concurrent development source control (Git) and continuous integration (Jenkins or Bamboo)
  • Experience with development tools, including TFS, VSTS, Docker, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub
  • Experience with QA automation framework and tools
  • Experience with cloud platforms, Azure experience is preferred
  • Experience in Azure based web application development involving (Microservices, App Services, ADLS, ADL, Key vault, Service Fabric, Azure Cosmos DB)
  • Experience with SQL platforms (e.g. SQL Server, Azure SQL, MySQL, Azure Cosmos DB)

Compensation:

The base salary range for this position in the greater Seattle area is $153,000 - $204,000 and varies dependent on geography, skills, experience, education, and other job or market-related factors. Performance-based incentive bonus(es) is available. In addition, HMA provides a generous total rewards package for full-time employees that includes: seventeen (IC) days paid time off; eleven paid holidays, one paid personal and one paid volunteer day; company-subsidized medical, dental, vision, and prescription insurance; company-paid disability, life, and AD&D insurances; voluntary life insurances; HSA and FSA pre-tax programs; 401(k)-retirement plan with company match; wellness incentive and reimbursement; remote work and continuing education reimbursements; discount program; parental leave; and a charitable giving match. HMA is primarily a remote workforce, requires a reliable internet connection, and provides all hardware. Some roles are required onsite 1-3 days per week/month while other roles are 100% remote.
