Responsibilities

  • Responsible for polysomnographic data on one or two patients throughout the night with ability to recognize pathology and differentiate artifact from real physiological data.
  • The technologist must also note and report all events, behaviors and information that may be relevant to a patient's evaluation.
  • Conducts a program of treatment, management, diagnostic evaluation and care of patients with sleep-related breathing disorders in a safe and therapeutically effective manner.
  • Correctly administers services in accordance with Policies and Procedures.
  • Maintains awareness of environmental conditions and initiates corrective intervention as indicated.
  • Possess an expanded level of technical competence that is shared effectively with other staff.
  • Maintain a professional relationship with the medical staff.

Qualifications

  • High School Graduation or equivalent.
  • Completion of a clinical polysomnography and/or respiratory care program approved by the American Medical Association preferred.
  • Current licensure as a Polysomnographic Technologist by the Idaho Board of Medicine.
  • Current Registered Polysomnographic Technologist by the National Board for Registered Polysomnographic Technologists required.
  • Current BLS certification
