Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the management and ordering of the OR inventory. Maintains and suggests PAR levels. Ensures supplies are rotated and monitors for supply outdates.
  • Monitors supply back-orders and shortages and communicates to all appropriate professionals.
  • Serves as a liaison between the OR systems and the Materials Management Inventory System, coordinating inventory changes and reviewing inventory locations. Performs and coordinates cycle counts and resolves any discrepancies.
  • Assists with the procurement of capital equipment, consignment equipment, and contractual agreements. Orders special/non-stock items and supplies.
  • Accountable for the bone freezer. Maintains accurate records for the temperature log book. Inventories stock on a monthly basis. Verifies the inventory with the log book. Documents receipt and verification of freight shipments.
  • Responsible for transportation of needed supplies between campuses
  • Acts as a liaison between physicians, sales representatives to coordinate consignment in conjunction with materials management, central processing and OR.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Experience in material management
  • Prior perioperative/ OR/Central Processing experience
