Job Description



Location: Parker Meggitt Engineered Materials Group-CFC-San Diego (Mira Mesa)

The Production Manager reports to the Director of Operations and is a strategic partner in manufacturing operations with responsibility for leading one or more production lines to achieve operational and financial results. The Production Manager ensures all parts within the line are manufactured safely and with the highest level of quality in order to meet customer requirements.

Job Core Responsibilities

* Enforce environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures at the site and work with EHS Manager on implementation of improvements or new policies

* Ensures compliance to customer requirements and internal quality policies and procedures

* Responsible for managing a specific production line including people, processes, equipment, and material to ensure on-time delivery of product to the customer with no quality escapes

* Complete analysis and execute to plan to maintain optimal headcount, schedules, and shifts required to achieve productivity goals for the program

* Regularly reviews individual and team performance with direct employees, recognizes and rewards achievements, and properly addresses any performance issues

* Complete capacity analysis for equipment needs to support short term and long term demand requirements

* Manage asset list for items on the production line such as tooling and equipment

* Lead a daily management meeting with cross-functional team to review prior day's performance and assign tasks to address needs or issues for the day

* Support team by removing obstacles and prioritizing workflows and actions

* Support quality zero defect initiatives to reduce cost of poor quality and improve yields

* Support customer calls as required

* Support internal and external audits

* Work closely with program management to ensure production changes and issues are communicated to customers in a timely manner

* Lead value stream mapping activities (current and future state) to identify opportunities for improvement to reduce lead time

* Participate in and/or lead Kaizen events and encourage all team members to engage in continuous improvement activity

* Lead and support deployment of Lean processes and tools to drive results (e.g. 5S+Safety, TPM, daily management meetings, standard work, etc.)

* Other responsibilities or special projects as assigned

Job Specifications

Education : Post-Secondary degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectation.
Years Experience : 5-7 years of relevant experience

Skills :

* Experience in production support. Direct management of employees a plus.

* Ability to plan, set priorities, and direct actions to direct employees and supporting team members

* Work with a sense of urgency to resolve day-to-day technical and operational issues and execute to strategic initiatives to achieve results

* Strong leadership and interpersonal skills

* Strong communication skills

* Able to analyze data and information to make decisions

* Proficient in Microsoft applications - Excel, Word, PowerPoint

* Knowledge of AS9100 and NADCAP preferred

* Lean six sigma green belt a plus

Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, candidate experience, qualifications, location as well as market and business considerations. Pay Range: $100K-$130K
