Job Summary The Getty Conservation Institute (GCI) is seeking a Project Archivist II to fill a four-year, limited-term post. Reporting to the GCI Manager of Research Services, you will implement protocols for organizing the GCI's past, current and future project materials in all formats, according to archival best practices and Getty Institutional Archives standards. As an example, materials may document GCI field projects at cultural heritage sites around the world and may include project planning briefs, scientific research results, condition assessments, conservation treatments, environmental monitoring data, photographs, site protection planning, training records, publications, evaluation reports, and other items that illustrate the development, evolution, and history of the projects. About Us This job will be based in our office at the Getty Center in Los Angeles. It will begin in the office full-time and the opportunity to request a telework schedule may be available after an initial period of training and orientation and will be discussed and approved by your supervisor. Typically, staff with approved telework schedules at the Getty Conservation Institute are in the office more than half of the time. Major Job Responsibilities
Bring leadership to the Getty Conservation Institute's (GCI) internal archiving efforts to ensure that materials will serve as lasting records of project activities and will be accessible to cultural heritage professionals going forward.
Qualifications Master's degree from an ALA-accredited school with a focus on archives or records management and a minimum of 2 years of professional experience with archives and/or records management in a cultural heritage or educational setting. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
