Job Summary

Oversees and directs all Human Resource (HR) functions within assigned region. Serves as a knowledge resource to the region. Travels up to 75% of the time with overnight stays required as business needs dictate.

Essential Functions
  • Management responsibilities include, but are not limited to: hiring, terminations, coaching, skills development, recognition and rewards, performance management and staff productivity.
  • Plans, organizes, staffs, directs and controls the day-to-day operations of the department; develops and implements policies and programs as necessary.
  • Develops and manages the department budget; ensures compliance and addresses variances and other budget concerns.
  • Responsibility for the oversight and maintenance of positive employee and labor relations
  • Oversees and manages the planning, organization and implementation of all HR functions and processes within an assigned region.
  • Oversees and conducts regional and/or district training initiatives; collaborates with Pittsburgh Ground Headquarters (PGH) to develop training as needed.
  • Collaborates with various departments and management to develop strategic HR programs and processes; oversees the implementation on these programs and processes.
  • Participates in peak planning sessions; provides strategic insight for talent acquisition and staffing.
  • Oversees and participates in facility engagement/retention events and supports strategic planning solutions.
  • Oversees trend analysis to assess and quantify measurable results and outcomes that positively impacts HR metrics; communicates results to the appropriate personnel and develops action plan if needed.
  • Provides expert level consultation and support to regional management and employees regarding all HR services, policies, procedures, processes, and programs.
  • Ensures compliance with all employment laws, regulations, and FedEx Ground policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Oversees and conducts investigations within the region; provides a thorough and accurate investigative report with appropriate recommendation(s) for corrective action.
  • Serves as a knowledge resource to the assigned region.

Minimum Education

* Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, Liberal Arts, or related discipline required. In lieu of a degree, the minimum education requirement may be met by having a high school degree or GED, the eight (8) years of minimum experience and an additional four (4) years human resource management or human resource advisor experience.

Minimum Experience

* Eight (8) years of experience in Human Resources or related field required. Experience across multiple areas, like employee relations, compensation, benefits and talent acquisition preferred. Minimum of four (4) years HR management experience or two (2) years in HR management plus two (2) years in HR Advisor role preferred.

Required Skills, Abilities and / or Licensure

* Professional in Human Resources (PHR) Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification preferred. * Software skills, including use of Microsoft Office software and web-based applications. * Verbal and written communication skills necessary to communicate with all levels of management. * Presentation skills necessary to facilitate training and/or deliver informational sessions to groups and/or individuals. * Time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills necessary to work in a fast-paced environment, handling various tasks and changing priorities, while maintaining a high attention to detail and accuracy to achieve daily assignments and goals. * Ability to anticipate and identify problems and use sound judgment and fact-based analysis to develop effective and efficient solutions. * Ability to inspire a shared vision and empower and motivate a team. * Knowledge of concepts, practices, policies and procedures related to human resources. * Ability to travel up to 75%.

This position is open to FedEx employees of the Surface HR Organization.

Salary information represents the full potential base pay range associated with this job. Actual starting pay would be determined commensurate with experience and relative to pay levels at the location. An employee may also be eligible for additional pay programs, such as geographic and/or incentive pay. These programs do not apply to all jobs or all locations.

Salary Range: $112,944/annually - $170,352/annually
% of Travel for the Position: 50%-75%
