Job Summary:

Responsible for planning, coordination, and oversight of daily trucking operations including safety, compliance, and quality control. Coordinates and supervises employees engaged in loading and transporting materials and constructionmachinery. Schedules driver and assigns routes to maximize productivity. Responsibilities include communicating withcompany project managers, company crew leaders and owners or their representative.

Main Responsibilities:

* Embrace the Company's safety culture, actively support all safety initiatives, and adhere to defined accountabilities implemented by the Safety Steering and Continuous Improvement teams
* Support, promote, and practice the Company's core values, vision, and mission; follow code of ethics, workplace conduct, safety, and other established policies
* Drive the Simon safety culture and ensure highest standards are maintained in terms of safety, quality, and efficiency
* Actively support and lead Company initiatives related to safety, performance, and employee development
* Establish and implement key performance indicators and utilize them to manage assigned area
* Keep track of delivery times, transport costs, and efficiency; maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements
* Effectively manage the work environment and staff to ensure safety, regulatory, and production targets are met
* Maintain effective relationships with customers, suppliers, and Company business groups
* Maintain effective relationships and communication with lease driver representatives
* Plan and coordinate trucking dispatch, transporting equipment and scheduling while targeting utilization efficiency and profitability
* Maintain regular communications with drivers and customers to ensure delivery deadlines are met
* Implement effective planning, scheduling, and maintenance practices in order to reduce down-time
* Plan and coordinate required repair and preventative maintenance on trucking equipment
* Make recommendations regarding equipment replacement or disposal
* Perform other duties and projects as assigned

Education:

* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply-Chain Management, Logistics, or related field a plus
* Valid drivers' license and clean driving history; Class A CDL with endorsements required

Skills:

* 3-5 years of experience in commercial trucking operations, logistics, construction, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
* 3-5 years of experience working in a supervisory capacity
* Ability to effectively lead and develop employees
* Ability to work independently, adapt to changing situations, and problem-solve in a dynamic environment
* Prior experience using project planning, dispatch, and/or logistics software
* Basic experience in use of computers including MS Office, spreadsheet, and database programs
* Knowledge of DOT, OSHA, MSHA, and other applicable local, state, and federal regulations

Physical Requirements:

* Wear and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by company safety guidelines
* Occasionally required to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
* Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
* Frequently required to sit and use a computer for long periods
* Occasional work in close proximity to heavy equipment and machinery
* Exposure to typical construction site conditions, including dust and loud noise, and all weather conditions
* Regularly required to use hands to feel, handle and manipulate objects, write, use a keyboard and/or mobile device
* Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear), and perform tasks requiring visual acuity
