Job Description


This position supports individual sourcing projects and/or a set of assigned commodities by deploying best in class procurment practices. This position also assists in contract execution, implementation and supplier reviews for all assigned categories.

The Sourcing Specialist works collaboratively and proactively to identify process, sourcing and contract improvement opportunities.

Scope/Supervision and Interaction:

Position directly reports to Division Sourcing and Procurement Manager.

Essential Functions:

Create, approve, and convert requisitions efficiently and timeliey. Work with stakeholders to ensure suppliers are meeting the needs of the business.

Analyze historical data and market trends to forecast demand accurately.

Develop strategic plans to meet future procurement needs, and communicate those plans to stakeholders and suppliers.

Create, approve, and place purchase orders with suppliers. Monitor order status and expedite as necessary. Step in to resolve situations between stakeholders and suppliers. Address supplier and plant-related issues promptly. Implement corrective actions to maintain smooth operations.

Build and conduct competitive bids for all assigned categories and stakeholders. Negotiate favorable terms with suppliers. Optimize sourcing strategies based on commodity characteristics. Foster long-term relationships with key suppliers.

Draft and manage contracts. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Ensure alignment between purchase orders, receipts, and invoices. Validate accuracy and resolve discrepancies.

Monitor supplier performance using key metrics. Collaborate with suppliers to improve quality, delivery, and cost.

Drive process improvements within the procurement function. Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency gains.

Evaluate whether to produce in-house or outsource. Make data-driven decisions to optimize costs and quality.

Assess and mitigate risks associated with suppliers. Develop risk mitigation strategies.

Utilize total cost models for informed decision-making. Categorize and manage commodities effectively

Coordinates and participates in supplier meetings.

-4 year college degree Supply Chain management or relevant discipline.

-Experience and/or exposure to supply chain concepts and methodologies, and manufacturing through internships or training programs.

-Possess analytical and technical skills required to understand business practices and recommend proper automation opportunities.

-Must have intermediate computer skills and be able to understand of electronic processing.

-Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for effective interface with all internal and external contacts.
