Job Description:

The Job/What You'll Do:

Facilitate and support the sales of AssetMark products in concert with all Sales Roles across the assigned Sales Consultants by building and supporting effective relationships with Investment Advisors. Moreover, the Sales Consultant Specialist will proactively offer support of their Sales Teams' needs and facilitate opportunities to increase production as well as undertaking important administrative support and illustrating product performance through various sales software. The Sales Consultant Specialist will consult with their Sales Team partners, and advisors, regarding product details, fund performance, fund holdings and investment allocation, assisting in basic servicing questions, growing a territory, and be ready to step-in for team members or the Consultant as needed.

We can consider candidates for this position who are able to accommodate a hybrid work schedule and are close to one of our following offices: Phoenix, AZ, Encino, CA or Chicago, IL.


  • Support the consultative process for the Wealth Management platform and service offerings by partnering with the Ensemble Teams (all Sales Team Roles) to drive scale and capacity for the Sales Team.
  • Promote growth in sales production with existing advisor base by identifying additional advisor needs and opportunities by being able to:
    • Identify and capitalize on sales opportunities by asking advisors probing questions during each advisor interaction
    • Influence, persuade and educate advisors on key benefits of our platform offerings versus the competition
  • Partner with the Ensemble Teams to develop a sales strategy and then execute that strategy by being able to:
    • Demonstrate expertise and knowledge to consult with advisors on product details, performance, holdings, positioning and investment allocations both conceptually and during point of sale interactions
    • Apply consultative selling techniques to increase share of an existing advisor's book of business
  • Aid the Consultant in supporting qualified advisors who are interested in working with AssetMark by being able to:
    • Host regularly scheduled Webinars to train on PE/Wealthbuilder/eWealthManager, etc. for the Ensemble Teams to drive advisors to.
    • Taking ownership of the Inbound Call Queue.
    • Proactively drive attendance to various territory meetings, confirm & set meetings for the Teams.
    • Act as primary sales point of contact for escalated service-related issues.
    • Provide sales support for National Consultant Team when working in the field.
    • Fill-in as a Sales Consultant for a specific territory, when the assigned Sales Consultant is out of the office.
  • Educate, advise, and consult advisors (or prospective advisors) on our Wealth Management platform investment, practice management and client relationship offerings
  • Assist existing advisors by discussing an investment strategy, creating Client Investment Proposal and answering questions related to eWealthManager.com website and functionality
  • Utilize ongoing Discovery/Qualification process while prospecting for new advisors
  • Craft professional and compliant email communications to prospective advisors
  • Use active-listening skills and stay flexible to potential client needs and questions
  • Make outbound calls to prospective advisors to garner interest in upcoming meetings
  • Help advisors understand and be able to explain platform fees and costs, as well as overcome objections they may raise
  • Keep current on all investment information as it relates to the following: The investment platform, marketing materials, operations and industry news and current market events
  • Build relationships with advisors and make strong presentations via phone and written communication

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Education & Experience:

  • FINRA Licensed: 6, 63 and 65 and/or 7 and 66
  • Experience consulting and advising on managed money platforms
  • Prior Salesforce.com experience
  • B.A. or B.S. (4 year degree)
  • 2+ years of experience in the financial services industry
  • 1+ year of experience as an AssetMark Sales Coordinator/Associate
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Compensation: The Base Salary range for this position is between $45,000-$50,000.

This information reflects a base salary range that AssetMark reasonably expects to pay for the position based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and actual work location. This position will also be eligible for a comprehensive sales incentive package and competitive benefits.
