The Accounting Director position is responsible for accounting activities related to Month-end Close and financial reporting, account analysis and documentation for BrightSpring Health Services operations, in particular Amerita Home Infusion.

NOTE: This position is remote within the US, but the Director will need to be onsite in Denver for month-end close. There will also be additional travel to Denver for training/ onboarding. Should reside within one hour of a major airport.

Responsibilities

    Leads and supervises monthly close process and assists & supports monthly, quarterly, and annual audit requirements
  • Supervises accounting staff of 4-6 team members
  • Reviews and approves reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statements to ensure that they are prepared properly and follow-up on any unusual items
  • Primary Amerita liaison for Sarbanes-Oxley across all corporate functions and is responsible for ensuring all finance department internal controls are properly documented and followed
  • Works with internal and external audit to complete testing on these controls
  • Prepares the company's revenue and bad debt reserve analyses and leads review discussions with senior management
  • Ensures monthly and/or quarterly updates of all accounting estimates, including reserves, are completed
  • Oversees maintenance of systems and controls that verify the integrity of systems, processes, and data
  • Evaluates and makes appropriate improvements to internal accounting processes, ensuring that practices are in line with the overall goals of the organization
  • Provides ad hoc analysis and support to parent company leadership and Amerita senior management
  • Maintains relationships with internal and external auditors
  • Manages Accounts Payable personnel, vendor relationships as necessary in the position, and transaction/ invoicing requirements to maintain timely and accurate payments
  • Reports to management on variances from the established budget and the reasons for those variances
  • Ensures that all general ledger accounts are reconciled to subsidiary records on a monthly basis
  • Communicates key information to top executive management
  • Leads and directs work of others
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Performs other tasks as assigned


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or Business required
  • Master's degree in accounting or finance preferred
  • CPA required
  • Big 4 public accounting firm experience preferred
  • 7-10 years in Accounting, including 2-3 years managing a high performing accounting team
  • Knowledge of general accounting and US GAAP required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required
  • Excellent computer skills including Excel, Word, and related accounting software required
  • Outstanding financial reporting and analytical skills required
  • Knowledge of internal and external audit requirements required
  • Ability to utilize new tools and technologies in a rapidly changing environment required
  • Knowledge of Oracle preferred
