The OCIO (Office of the CIO) Strategic Initiatives Senior Director must be IT enterprise- and transformation-focused, able to effectively drive and deliver cross-functional initiatives and/or solutions to complex problems.

To be successful, this leader will need to take initiative and plan, operate, and execute with big picture and long-term goals always in mind. They will seek and gain alignment across executive stakeholders, drive results and critical outcomes, and adapt quickly to changing priorities and direction from senior executive management.

This role reports directly to the SVP Head of the OCIO, and acts as extension of the Head of the OCIO in areas of strategic planning, transformational initiatives, and operational capabilities (e.g. ITSM, EPMO, Quality Engineering, etc.). Impeccable communication and collaboration skills, broad understanding of technology solutions, a bias for action, and the ability to effectively lead through influence are essential.

What you will do:

  • Develop and execute workforce and organizational strategies to enable Technology to build, grow, and optimize
  • Deftly collaborate with all IT executives and technology leaders to design, evaluate and advance technology strategies, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy
  • Build strong working relationships across the greater Empower enterprise for increased efficiency, collaboration, and synergy
  • Support and create executive and team communications as needed, including developing narratives, presentations, spreadsheets, charts and other artifacts
  • Assist in the development of new transformations and innovations; spearhead ideation as is required

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar technology discipline
  • 10+ years of professional experience leading large-scale technology projects, initiatives, and/or organizations
  • Experience with managing or collaborating with a wide range of technology teams, especially software and quality engineering, development of policies, standards, procedures, and controls, as well as infrastructure and security functions
  • Breadth of technology knowledge, especially strategic application of technology to meet business goals
  • Organizational savvy and sound judgment to build and influence an internal network toward successful cross-functional execution
  • Strong project management experience and skills: organized and disciplined, attentive to detail, follows up to ensure the right results, manages time effectively
  • Excellent quantitative, financial, and analytic skills, including experience in understanding and contributing to corporate financial plans
  • Extensive experience in contracting, negotiating, organization development/change management, and strategic planning
  • Impeccable verbal and written communication
  • Experience regularly presenting ideas and concepts to senior executive leadership areas (IT and Business)

  • Adept at road mapping, value stream process engineering, and general operational excellence capabilities and Lean or Six Sigma methodologies

  • Strong and broad technical knowledge across all functional areas
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including PowerPoint, planning tools, etc.
  • Willingness to execute other duties as assigned; be a problem solver, not an order taker

Base Salary Range

$120,600.00 - $174,825.00

The salary range above shows the typical minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation offered may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
