We are actively seeking Electrical Engineers with 10+ years of experience to join our company's Raleigh office. The individual should have experience managing project electrical teams, design and plan production for general electrical engineering on a wide variety of projects which may include lighting, power, and grounding plans, one-line diagrams, panel and cable schedules, and different project specifications.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Manage electrical design projects by collaborating and working with the overall MEI design Team
  • Alone or with other project staff, travel to site, meet with clients, utilities, and other parties to investigate site conditions/third party interface requirements for the project
  • Review and provide oversight of design calculations, design drawings, procurement specifications, and construction specifications
  • Develop new clients locally/regionally
  • Lead, mentor, and assist in the preparation of electrical design documents including:
    • One-Line diagrams
    • Electrical Equipment, Lighting, and Grounding Layouts
    • Block diagrams and cable tray layouts
    • Panel and cable schedules
    • Control System Architecture and Communication Layouts
    • Procurement and Construction Specifications
    • Underground/overhead power distribution systems
    • Medium/low voltage power distribution systems
    • Lighting systems
    • Lightning protection systems
    • Communications systems
    • Electric motors and controls
    • Substation design
    • Electrical calculations such as equipment sizing, short circuit, voltage drop, load studies, etc.
    • Selective coordination and arc flash studies
    • Preparation of detailed contract documents and studies
    • Construction observations
  • Size electrical distribution equipment
  • Determine wire, cable, and conduit sizes
  • Develop cable tray routing

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
  • 10+ years of experience
    • Power distribution experience required
    • Previous experience in an Infrastructure Engineering Industry preferred
  • Software
    • AutoCAD
    • Revit
    • ETAP or Easy Power
    • AGI32
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)
  • Availability and willingness to travel
  • All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171

Working conditions:

Majority of work is office based. Some site visits may be required which may necessitate navigating unpaved or natural terrain while carrying equipment.
