Position title: Head and Neck/Cardiothoracic Pathologist Salary range:
The posted UC Salary scales set the minimum pay at the appointment as determined by appointment type and if applicable, rank and/or step. The base pay range for this position is $255,000-$350,000. Salary is negotiated annually. Additional compensation may be available if the position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan. UC Salary information can be found here: https://www.ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/compensation/2023-24-academic-salary-scales.html Application Window Open date: May 29, 2024 Most recent review date: Wednesday, Oct 2, 2024 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Thursday, May 29, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description The Department of Pathology at the University of California, San Diego (http://pathology.ucsd.edu) is seeking a surgical pathologists with subspecialty training and expertise in Head and Neck/Cardiothoracic Pathology to join its Division of Anatomic Pathology. The successful candidates will have clinical responsibilities for specimens associated with robust organ transplant, general care, and cancer programs at the Rebecca and John Moores Cancer Center (the region's only NCI-designated Cancer Center), Sulpizio Cardiovascular Center and Cardiovascular Institute, Jacobs Medical Center, Hillcrest Medical Center, and the Koman Family Outpatient Pavilion at UC San Diego Health, as well as our referral/outreach/consultation programs and an expanding clinical integration network. The successful candidates will primarily attend and sign-out on the subspecialized head, neck, and cardiothoracic pathology of the Anatomic Pathology Division, but may also sign out on the Gastrointestinal/Hepatobiliary pathology, Cytopathology, and other Anatomic Pathology services as clinically required. The teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows is also expected. The appropriate series and appointment will be based on the candidate's background and experience. Candidates must have an MD or equivalent, DO, or MD/PhD in pathology or related fields. Candidates must have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California. Additional qualifications

Candidates must have completed fellowship training in Head & Neck Pathology and/or Pulmonary/Thoracic Pathology, and/or Cardiovascular Pathology and/or Surgical Pathology with an emphasis on Head & Neck Pathology Pulmonary/Thoracic Pathology, and/or Cardiovascular Pathology at the time of start the appointment. Candidates that have not completed any of the above fellowships must have at least 5 years of experience in a subspecialty practice of Head & Neck Pathology and/or Pulmonary/Thoracic Pathology, and/or Cardiovascular Pathology at the time of the start the appointment.
