Advanced Solder Tech/Final Inspection

This position will rotate between Advanced Solder Technician and Final Inspector responsibilities. As an Advanced Solder Technician, you will perform high level assembly and soldering of thru-hole electronic components on to printed circuit boards per IPC-A-610 class 2 and 3 standards. As a Final Inspector you will be responsible for the inspection of all material before it is shipped. You will also verify material that has been reworked and inspection of all RMA's.

Advanced Solder Technician responsibilities include:



  1. Follow internal assembly process documentation ensuring product meets internal, customer, and regulatory requirements.
  2. Populate printed circuit boards with thru-hole or secondary operation components.
  3. Solder thru-hole components per IPC-A-610 Class 2 and 3 standards.
  4. Solder simple and complex thru-hole printed circuit board assemblies.
  5. Ability to Solder higher end assembles, containing heavy ground planes, complex assembles and modifications
  6. De-panel, de-soldering skills, with manual, air powered, or solder wick.
  7. Perform First Article Approvals at the start and throughout the shift.
  8. Final inspection to IPC standards of thru-hole and surface mount components as needed due to workload.



Final Inspector responsibilities include:



  1. Perform a final inspection on all product being shipped based on provided acceptance criteria and relevant IPC standards.
  2. Perform initial investigation and final inspection activities on customer RMA's based on provided acceptance criteria and relevant IPC standards.
  3. Verify the conformance of all rework product based on provided acceptance criteria and relevant IPC standards.
  4. Verify the conformance of product at Thru-Hole, AOI, X-ray, SMT, Wave, Mechanical, Labeling, Test, Incoming Material, and Packaging.

Required Education and Experience



  1. IPC- A - 610 CIS Certified with extensive knowledge of electronic components and equipment.
  2. Ability to perform surface mount and thru-hole component soldering on printed circuit boards to IPC standards.
  3. Experience inspecting thru-hole and surface mount components on printed circuit board assemblies to IPC-A- 610 standards.



Preferred Education and Experience



  1. Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent.
  2. ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems Requirement
  3. General knowledge of IPC-7711B/7721 standard.
  4. General knowledge of IPC-A-600 standard.
