2nd shift

Wis-Pak is a beverage production and distribution cooperative licensed to produce Pepsi products as well as other soft drinks. Wis-Pak is headquartered in Watertown, WI. As we have grown for more than 50 years and updated our Watertown production facility, we now need an individual who is capable of PLC programing to help us problem solve production issues. As a PLC Technician at Wis-Pak of Watertown, you will be able to showcase your skills by trouble shooting our industrial manufacturing equipment; including both automated and mechanical machinery. We ideally need these skills on our second (2nd) shift, which is 1:30 pm to 10:00 pm, Monday through Friday, as this role will also mentor other employees on all our shifts. Shift premium is an additional $1.50 per hour.

JOB SUMMARY
The PLC Technician will maintain and troubleshoot factory equipment from various suppliers to improve and maximize reliability. They are responsible for the development and maintenance of key programs to ensure we have a sustainable electrical and controls system in place.

JOB DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Note: The job functions relate to the job, not the individual)

* Trouble shoot and diagnoses cause of electronic or mechanical malfunctions using knowledge, manuals, SOPs, specifications and other workplace aids to minimize production downtime.

* Execute planned work orders including special projects, improvements, and installations.

* Maintain equipment documentation, ensure work orders and PM sheets are completed accurately.

* Develop and maintain electrical controls documentation.

* Maintain factory software, including PLC and related subscriptions.

* Maintain factory electrical and controls obsolescence plan.

* Maintain and Improve PLC Logic control of changes and revision program.

* Program and modify new and existing PLC programs.

* Resolves and repairs all system faults and anomalies associated with installation, operation, maintenance, and connectivity problems, including changes, adjustments, and modifications to control code and standard operating parameters.

* Writes and debug PLC Logic and make recommendations for major corrective actions.

* Troubleshoot problems dealing with plant instrumentation and automation equipment to include but not limited to: valves; pressure; temperature; level, flow, conductivity, speed, force instruments; motor controls; PLC's, HMI's, etc.

* Calibrate/validate plant instruments to include but not limited to: valves; pressure, temperature, level, flow, pH, conductivity, weight, force and speed instruments.

* Perform additional industrial maintenance tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

* Minimum of 5 years' experience in a PLC technician role in an industrial environment; experience with Allen Bradley or Siemens PLC programming is a plus.

* Strong engineering and technical skills including PLC, Electrical, and Mechanical skills.

* Be able to conduct basic mathematical calculations and use electrical test instrumentation.

* Must have good analytical/problem solving skills to be able to work independently but also have good communication and teamwork skills to work with plant personnel and vendors.

* Must be able to do physical inspections, (i.e. climbing, reaching, extending).
