A startup manufacturer is looking for an Accounting Manager to join their team. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing operational accounting and own the month-end close. To be successful in this role, the Accounting Manager should be able to be hands on in a growth environment, have great communication skills, and know how to prioritize tasks. What do you need for this Accounting Manager role? Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field 6+ years of accounting experience Should have experience supervising or reviewing the work of others Advanced Excel Must have related industry experience Strong GAAP knowledge What will you do in this Accounting Manager role? Oversee day-to-day accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. Implement and manage cost accounting procedures including tracking production costs, analyzing variances, and optimizing cost control measures. Maintain accurate inventory records, conduct periodic inventory audits, and reconcile discrepancies to ensure data integrity. Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP and internal standards. Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy. Ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations, corporate policies, and industry standards. Supervise and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations. Evaluate and improve accounting systems, processes, and workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Work closely with other departments, including Sales, Marketing, and Operations, to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making. What is in this Accounting Manager role for you?
