Job Description
- Comply at all times with Fairmont standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
- Lead the stewarding and culinary team in compliance with TEHC audit.
- Schedule all supervisors and stewards to meet labor standards.
- Ensure accurate payroll process completed bi-weekly.
- Be the main liaison with the night cleaning company.
- Train all stewarding staff to perform duties above standards
- Supervise and maintain the sanitation of kitchen, storerooms, hallways, dock and equipment
- Ensure compliance with Health Department standards as well as TEHC internal audit
- Work with the Chef, F&B Director, Catering team and Banquets team to anticipate equipment needs
- Ensure assistance is provided for all Banquet functions
- Attend BEO meetings and update BEOs based on Change Log & Revisions
- Must know and assist with all supervisor/steward duties
- Order and control inventory of all cleaning compounds
- Take physical inventories of China, glass, silver, paper and cleaning supplies
- Attend meetings to maintain favorable working relationships among company employees and promote maximum morale, productivity, and efficiency
- Lead all talent management initiatives including reviews, coaching, and disciplinary actions.
- Lead recruitment initiatives and talent selection for the department.
- Promote positive and engaging work environment for the entire Stewarding department.
- Prepare daily, weekly, monthly labor programs report.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform, and PPE.
Other duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required
- 3-year leadership experience in Stewarding or related department required
- At least two years of experience in a hotel or related field required.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
- Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
- Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
- Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations.
- Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
- Must be effective at handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.
- Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by coworkers and guests.
