Job Title: Anesthesia Acute Care Nurse Practitioner

Position Summary: Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Anesthesia Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join our esteemed team. The successful candidate will provide advanced clinical care in a dynamic and collaborative environment, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety in perioperative and acute care settings.

Key Responsibilities:




  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients, including history taking, physical examination, and diagnostic testing.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Administer anesthesia and provide perioperative care for patients undergoing surgical and other procedures.
  • Monitor and manage patients in the critical care setting, ensuring optimal outcomes and patient safety.
  • Provide patient and family education on postoperative care, pain management, and recovery processes.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, contributing to the continuous improvement of clinical practices and patient care protocols.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities in the electronic health record system.
  • Stay current with advancements in anesthesia and critical care through ongoing professional development and continuing education.



Qualifications:




  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
  • Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of Maryland.
  • Certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AG-ACNP) preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in an acute care or critical care setting, with experience in anesthesia preferred.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.
