POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for administration and oversight of one or more clinical database registries related to general pediatric and/or subspecialty areas. Provides day-to-day management for all programmatic aspects related to assigned clinical database registries. Facilitates process of integrating clinical database registries with clinical programs, other existing data marts, and information technology developments. Responsible for reliable selection of clinical cases, entry of appropriate data fields, inter-rater reliability process, maintaining updated standard operation procedures documentation, and adhering to all privacy and security policies with respect to sensitive patient-level data. Has matrix reporting responsibilities to Sr. Nursing Director for content area of responsibility.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:




  • Reviews electronic patient records and enters data into appropriate database
  • Identifies key missing elements in electronic patient records and communicates with clinical team to resolve potential missing data elements for required registry fields
  • Communicates with clinical teams to track and document specific outcome measures for trending
  • Communicates database related activities with other departments, institutes, and ancillary units
  • Serves as communication liaison with clinical teams for data and analytic requests that align with assigned database registries
  • Completes requests for reports and data abstraction from registries, allowing clinical teams to make accurate and appropriate decisions to improve patient outcomes and advance research
  • Responsible for timely and accurate uploads to external databases as required by statute or contract
  • Forecasts and plans for system software changes
  • Performs other duties as assigned by leadership
  • Maintains professional growth and education
  • Maintains confidentiality of data and electronic information consistent with hospital, state, and federal guidelines



QUALIFICATIONS:




  • BSN with active Florida licensure
  • 3 years direct patient care nursing experience
  • Experience with medical record abstraction and database management preferred
  • If database requires certification, ability to obtain certification within the experience- required timeframe outlined by the database (i.e. if required number of experience hours is equal to six months, certification must be obtained in six months)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows environment (e.g. Word, Excel, Access, Power Point)


Salary Range: Minimum 36.14 per hour - Maximum 56.01 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
