What you will do:

You would be responsible for the implementation of the curriculum in either the classroom face to face or the clinical/laboratory setting. As an Adjunct Faculty you possess current and evolving knowledge in the content along with relative clinical practice experience. You will teach the students, provide the course/clinical assessments and evaluations, and facilitate student centered learning.

We are proactively recruiting Adjunct Faculty for Winter and Spring 2025 terms (January - June) in the following areas of our School of Nursing:

    Medical Surgical I Theory and Clinical
  • Medical Surgical II Clinical
  • Pathophysiology
  • Foundations of Nursing Practice I and II Theory and Clinical
  • Accelerated Foundations of Nursing Practice Clinical
  • Obstetric and Gynecologic Nursing Clinical
  • Behavioral Health Theory and Clinical
  • Pediatric Clinical
  • Population Health Clinical
  • Issues in Professional Practice Theory
  • Genetics and Genomics in Healthcare Theory

Availability:

  • Candidates for theory courses must be available to teach on our Chicago Campus minimally 2 days per week
  • Candidates for the clinical courses must be able to teach an 8.5 hour clinical in the Greater Chicago area.

These programs are taught on-site at the Chicago campus during the weekday



Essential Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Teach assigned course based on approved syllabus and developed curriculum
  • Implement evaluation methods as outlined in the approved syllabus
  • Collaborate with nursing program administration to implement other assignments and/or evaluations based on professional experiences
  • Attend workshops if applicable to course being taught
  • Attend adjunct orientation before the start of each semester
  • Adhere to School of of Nursing policies and procedures as outlined in the nursing student and faculty handbooks.
  • Participate in end of course program reports and evaluations
  • Attend required clinical agency orientation, if applicable
  • Supervise and maintain laboratories and equipment if teaching in the simulation/skills lab


Qualifications

Required:

  • Master's Degree or higher in Nursing
  • Unencumbered Illinois License or the ability to get an Illinois License
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working as an RN in a related clinical area
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Preferred:

  • 1-3 years of experience teaching BSN undergraduate nursing students in either theory or clinical
