Job Description Summary: The Director, Program Finance, is a member of the Finance Leadership Team reporting to the Chief Financial Officer with matrixed responsibilities to the Vice President/General Managers for all five Program Offices at Draper. This highly visible position will oversee policies, procedures, and financial reporting for program execution through directly and indirectly supervising staff responsible for program financial controls. This role requires an ability to think strategically and tactically as well as outstanding leadership, communication, analytical and compliance skills.Program Finance responsibilities include efficient, consistent, and compliant application of financial principles for Earned Value Management (EVM), quarterly estimates at complete (EAC), and other program financial controls. The Program Finance organization will be responsible for communicating results effectively through EAC packages, program management review packages, forecasting long- and short-term plans and through timely data and analysis. Additional responsibilities include supporting contract start-up and contract close-out activities, as well as proposal development. This leader is expected to drive team development, process improvements, tool enhancements, and provide financial leadership and adherence to Draper policies and standard procedures. Job Description: Duties/Responsibilities * The position partners and consults with the Vice President/General Managers of the five program offices and exercises independent judgment and analysis to make decisions that will drive positive financial impact * Strategic thinker experienced at developing plans for short and long-term results. * Lead a team of finance personnel by recruiting, retaining, training, developing and optimizing a workforce that can successfully deliver and adapt to evolving needs of the program execution function * Influence the development of proposals to ensure program execution risks and opportunities are identified and mitigated to the extent possible through the formulation of effective bid and contract terms & conditions in partnership with Program Office counterparts * Ensure that the needs of all internal and external customers are met, and that the goals and objectives of the company, business area and product line are fully supported and achieved * Create an organizational understanding of all relevant federal acquisition regulations, as well as all pertinent company policies and procedures * Ensure solid program and product line financial performance through early identification of operational issues and implementation of containment methods. * Manage and report financial performance of programs which include disciplined EVMS and EAC practices compliant with internal and external criteria * Identify opportunities for improvements in contract profitability, cash flow, and return on investment * Work across Draper to implement tools and technology to enhance automation * Create reporting and analytics to aid in improved predictability of operating results and cash flow requirements * Perform other ad hoc analyses as required * Strong attention to details, and the ability to make quick, informed decisions.
