Overview / Job Summary:

WSU Tech is seeking a highly skilled and experienced CNC Machining Instructor to join our technical college faculty. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in CNC lathe and CNC Milling operations, including advanced techniques such as 3+2 CNC Milling, 5 Axis milling, and multiple machine simultaneous set up and machining operations. Additionally, experience with collaborative assist technology such as robotic machine tending, Automatic parts loaders, Bar feeders/pullers is essential. The candidate should also have a strong background in CMM inspection and proficiency in using the MasterCam suite of software, Verisurf, or similar inspection softwares.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will vary, but are not limited to:


  • Develop and deliver comprehensive curriculum for CNC machining courses, including theoretical concepts and hands-on practical training.
  • Instruct students on CNC lathe and CNC Milling operations, focusing on advanced techniques like 3+2 CNC Milling, 5 Axis milling, and setting up multiple machines for simultaneous operations.
  • Integrate collaborative assist technology training into the curriculum, covering robotic machine tending, Automatic parts loaders, Bar feeders/pullers, and other relevant technologies.
  • Provide guidance and support to students in mastering CMM inspection techniques and software.
  • Create a conducive learning environment that fosters student engagement, critical thinking, and skill development.
  • Conduct assessments, evaluations, and feedback sessions to track student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly.


The ideal candidate possesses excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, can work effectively in a team environment, and collaborate with diverse stakeholders. Additionally, having prior teaching or training experience in CNC machining is a plus.

Education:

  • Associates degree in CNC Machining, Manufacturing Technology, or related field.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in CNC lathe and CNC Milling operations will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Proficiency in advanced CNC machining techniques, including 3+2 CNC Milling, 5 Axis milling, and multiple machines set up and simultaneous operations.
  • Experience with collaborative assist technology such as robotic machine tending, Automatic parts loaders, Bar feeders/pullers.
  • Strong knowledge of CMM inspection principles and experience with CMM software.
  • Proficient in using the MasterCam suite of software for CNC programming and toolpath generation.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Prior teaching or training experience in CNC machining is a plus.
