POSITION DESCRIPTION

LISC is seeking an experienced technology program manager with an IT project management background that includes technology initiatives and implementation projects across the full range of IT services, especially in process improvement and application development.

  • Brings sensitivity, expertise and collaborative techniques learned through real-world experience working with diverse teams.
  • Takes an increasing leadership role as the department grows in capability and capacity.


You will:



  • Report directly to the CIO providing strategic and management support.
  • Lead technology programs and simultaneous projects in areas of process improvement, application development, network infrastructure, client services and IT operations.
  • Drive development and delivery of technical solutions to advance information management and support LISC's business objectives.
  • Draw on experience in bringing together projects in a hybrid environment including on-premises infrastructure and cloud-based software and services.
  • Provide expertise, advocate and share project management best practices across the company in working across LISC functional departments.


DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervision and Management



  • Directly manage the IT Project Management unit and work closely with the in-house application development teams, technology vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Identify, secure, and coordinate implementation of internal and external resources and expertise as appropriate to achieve project objectives.
  • Lead development of functional design specifications for processes, systems, interfaces, and reports, as needed.


Strategic Planning



  • Advise in formulation of IT departmental goals, objectives, and operating procedures.
  • Anticipate and help plan for changes to current IT structures, policies and practices needed to move in new strategic directions.
  • Research and deliver new ideas and help plan technologies and solutions.
  • Facilitate development of the technology roadmap.


Program and Project Management



  • Maintain and continuously improve:

    • A project portfolio and resource management process that enables forecasting of capacity, workload, and availability.
    • Standards for project management and communication.
    • Communication plans that ensure appropriate information is exchanged among key stakeholders.


  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and according to specifications.
  • Prepare, submit, and present written and oral status reports to stakeholders and CIO.
  • Perform additional duties, as assigned.


Staff development



  • Assist the CIO in developing a team that is forward-thinking while delivering on the day-to-day needs of the company.
  • Help set and manage expectations for teams and their leaders.
  • Coach and counsel members of cross-functional teams to accomplish project goals.


QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Minimum required education is a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required in Computer Science or a related field
  • Minimum 10 years of related experience
  • Demonstrated IT application development-related project management experience
  • Ability to manage staff, lead simultaneous projects independently and bring projects to completion
  • Possess a strong orientation to product quality project management methodologies and tools such as those defined by Project Management Institute (PMI) and included in Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK). This should include knowledge and use of resource management practices, change management techniques
  • Experience working with lending and/or finance-related IT projects
  • Familiarity with Jira, Smartsheet, Salesforce, and Box is a plus
  • Excellent teamwork, consensus building and diplomacy skills
  • Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrates presentation and communication skills for varying audiences


WORK ARRANGEMENT

Hybrid in New York City HQ Office preferred. Full time remote with occasional travel to NYC possible.
