Position Overview

The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine is seeking a dynamic and accomplished researcher to join our esteemed faculty. The successful candidate will have a robust track record in cardiovascular research. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research aimed at understanding and treating cardiovascular diseases, leveraging our state-of-the-art facilities and collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will be committed to driving forward innovative research initiatives that can translate into clinical practice.

In addition to research responsibilities, the role involves active engagement in teaching and mentoring. The candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of cardiovascular specialists through lectures, seminars, and hands-on training. This position also includes opportunities to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including clinicians, engineers, and basic scientists, fostering a synergistic approach to cardiovascular research. Access to extensive institutional resources will support the candidates research endeavors, facilitating impactful discoveries and contributions to the field of cardiovascular medicine.

Duties and Responsibilities
The duties for this position include writing and publishing research in high quality peer reviewed, scientific journals; attending and making presentations of research at national and international scientific conferences; and developing national and international scholarly reputation. The position also Instructs and mentors junior scientists, doctoral and postdoctoral students, medical students, residents and fellow trainees; participates in department, college and university committees and initiatives. In addition, the position also conceptualizes, plans, designs, implements and conducts research studies in the area of cardiovascular medicine; develops and writes grant proposals to seek and obtain funding to support research program; obtains and maintains NIH RO1 or equivalent funding.

Faculty Defined
Clinical faculty (regardless of rank)- Persons with titles of assistant professor-clinical, associate professor-clinical and professor-clinical. These faculty will have earned a doctor of medicine (MD), doctorate (PhD) orother terminal degree in the relevant field. Clinical faculty members are not eligible for tenure and areappointed for terms of three to five years. They may be reappointed to successive terms. Their principal careerfocus is the delivery of exemplary clinical care, and may include teaching, and/or research.

Tenure-Track faculty (regardless of rank)- Persons with the titles of assistant professor, associate professor, orprofessor who are eligible for tenure or who have obtained tenure. These faculty will have earned a doctorate(PhD), Doctor of Medicine (MD) or other terminal degree in the relevant field of study. Their primary careerfocus centers on research, service, and teaching.Tenure-track faculty with MD or MD/PhD degrees may also beinvolved in clinical care.

Research Faculty (regardless of rank)- Persons with the titles of research assistant professor, research associateprofessor, or research professor. These faculty will have earned a doctorate(PhD) or other terminal degree inthe relevant field of study.Research faculty members are not eligible for tenure and areappointed for terms ofone to five years. Their principal careerfocus is research.
