Job Description Summary The Title Examiner will responsible for abstracting county records to analyze the findings of residential and commercial property by examining various documents for multiple properties in various counties. Examiner also determines the appropriate legal description and vesting information as well as the appropriate method to reflect encumbrances that affect the property in the requested title report. Title reports will range in complexity and may require guidance from senior staff/management.
Job Details We trust that as a Title Examiner you will: (responsibilities)
- Produce examination work, including the review of public and private records of all title documents, including but not limited to recorded plats, deeds, deeds of trust, liens, judgments, surveys, easements, probates and divorce decrees to verify vesting as well as legal descriptions of property
- Verify property access issues and objection letters
- Work with Sr. Title Examiners and Upper Management in basic UW decisions and pipeline execution
- Verify all issues with regards to access issues and Attorney objection letters
- Complete work in a timely and efficient manner to achieve targeted turn times
- Complete out-of-county evidence orders and work with providers to achieve viable service level agreements
- Review terrorist watch list and conducts name searches for each transaction
- Assist policy department to insure company is in compliance with TDI regulations
- Update commitments after survey review and plant bring to dates
- You are willing to perform other duties as assigned

About you:
- Education/Experience - Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of title examination experience. Proficiency in Title Plant products in major metropolitan Texas counties
- Technical Skills - Must have demonstrated PC proficiency, including knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word Experience using Softpro and Title Plant search systems
- Ability to make sound decisions with strong judgement and negotiation skills
- Ability to effectively prioritize and plan work activities, use time efficiently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines with high level of detail and accuracy
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Will have responsibilities such as:
- This position is considered a non-exempt position for purposes of wage-hour law, which means that you will be required to keep a time record and will be eligible for overtime pay.
