Reporting to the Director of Residence Life & Housing, this position fosters a living and learning environment in the residence halls that contributes to whole-person, student development and a student-first culture. Promotes community development through hall programming and community standards consistent with the mission of the College. This is a live-in, professional staff position. There are two openings. Key Responsibilities: *Assist in selection and training of Residence Life & Housing student staff. *Supervise 15-20 Resident Advisors and/or Greek Resident Managers. *Advise and train one of three Neighborhood Councils to include coordination of elections and supervision of budget. *Coordinate various aspects of hall management including timely submission and follow-up of maintenance requests and damage billing. *Foster open and positive communication with various departments to include Housekeeping, Plant Operations, Grounds and Campus Safety. *Assist the Assistant Dean of Students in resolving minor violations of College policy with accused students through the College's informal resolution process. *Assist in the planning and implementation of the housing selection process. *Provide Care Team follow-up assignments and assist Crisis Team Members in various protocols included in the College's Crisis/Emergency Management Plan. *Assist in collection and analysis of data related to residence life & housing. *Participate in the on-call rotation with other professional staff members in Residence Life & Housing. *Assist in planning and implementing such programs as Orientation, Family Weekend and Alumni Weekend. *Educate and train Residence Life & Housing staff and the student population on conduct procedures. *Coordinate Intensive Learning Term and summer school housing, including selection and training of summer staff. *Coordinate Residence Life & Housing programming efforts including training and maintaining regular program reports. *Participate in routine reviews and updates of the Residence Life & Housing website, policies and publications. *Partner with Campus Safety on fire safety educational efforts and training to include fire drills. *Reports to the Senior Assistant Director of Residence Life & Housing for room changes and coordination of the annual housing room selection process *Assist in advising National Residence Hall Honorary and participate in annual member selection process. *Assist in planning and implementation of annual Residence Life & Housing Spring Banquet. *Performs other duties as assigned by the Senior Assistant Director of Residence Life & Housing or the Director of Residence Life & Housing. Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities: *Master's degree preferred in college student personnel, counseling, or related field *Ability to assume responsibility and work independently *Valid driver's license required *Excellent written and oral communication *Prior residence hall experience preferred About Roanoke College Roanoke College is a place where every student who works hard has the opportunity to succeed.
