About the Opportunity

DMI, LLC is seeking a Ruby on Rails QA Tester to join us. We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Ruby on Rails Quality Assurance (QA) Tester to join our development team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our Ruby on Rails applications through rigorous testing and validation processes. This role requires a strong understanding of QA methodologies, excellent problem-solving skills, and hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails.

As a Ruby on Rails QA Tester, you will work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to identify and resolve issues, ensuring that our applications meet the highest standards of quality. You will design and execute both manual and automated test plans, write and maintain test scripts, and document test results. Your ability to identify bugs and suggest improvements will be critical to the success of our software products.

Roles and Responsibilities:

    Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test plans and test cases for Ruby on Rails applications.
  • Perform manual and automated testing to identify and resolve defects.
  • Collaborate with developers to understand application functionality and identify potential issues.
  • Write and maintain automated test scripts using appropriate testing frameworks (e.g., RSpec, Capybara).
  • Conduct regression testing to ensure new code changes do not negatively impact existing functionality.
  • Document and report defects, issues, and test results in a clear and concise manner.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback from a QA perspective.
  • Continuously improve QA processes and methodologies to enhance the quality and efficiency of testing efforts.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices in software testing and QA.


Qualifications

Education and Years of Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in software quality assurance, with a focus on Ruby on Rails applications.
  • Strong understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks such as RSpec, Capybara, or similar.
  • Proficiency in writing and executing SQL queries for data validation.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and development workflows.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of front-end testing frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Jasmine) is a plus.

Physical Requirements:
