Description

The Washington College Department of Business Management seeks candidates for a full-time, tenure-track Professor and Maryland E-Nnovation Initiative Fund Chair of Entrepreneurship and Innovation beginning August 2025. The position focuses on working with undergraduate students in co-curricular research, identifying and pursuing marketable ideas that spur local and regional economic development, and establishing and supporting partnerships with on- and off-campus entities to promote entrepreneurship and develop internships. Teaching responsibilities include two courses per semester on Entrepreneurship and other related courses in Business Management.

This is an opportunity for candidates who would thrive in a collegial environment that centers teaching, supports scholarly activities, encourages interdisciplinary efforts, and provides mentorship for junior faculty. The successful candidate must have a Masters Degree and extensive experience in entrepreneurship. Candidates with a Ph.D. or D.B.A. in a Behavioral Science field with experience in the practice or study of entrepreneurship (ABDs welcomed) are preferred. The ideal candidate should demonstrate expertise in entrepreneurship, evidenced by a record of teaching excellence and practical experience in startup ventures, consulting work, or related entrepreneurial activities.

  • Demonstrated expertise in entrepreneurship, evidenced by a record of teaching excellence, practical experience in startup ventures, consulting work, or related entrepreneurial activities.
  • 1+ years teaching college-age students in a college or university setting required.
  • Enthusiasm about teaching in a liberal arts environment (emphasizing critical thinking, writing, speaking, and faculty-student interaction).
