Information Governance Lead

Western Door Federal and our partner, PKH Enterprises, provide full-time Program Management Support to an office that addresses Privacy and FOIA, and in support of this effort is searching for an Information Governance Lead. This position will analyze processes, information governance practices, information management and knowledge management for the office, plan strategic communications and support the development of workflow and automation for the office. This will include Privacy and FOIA Office Support to ensure agency information is protected as required by federal law and policy throughout its lifecycle. Task Lead to ensure open, timely, and complete communication with the Government CO, COR, and GPM. Manage team and deliverables schedule to ensure timely delivery of products to the client.

Candidates must be located in the DC Metro area and able to commute to Washington, DC for occasional in-person meetings. Candidates will undergo the DHS suitability process.

Basic Qualifications:



  • B.A. or B.S. degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience required.
  • Experience leading a team supporting multiple deliverables with reporting requirements.
  • Experience with continuous improvement programs, requiring day-to-day operational support while initiating improvements.
  • Experience with information management, knowledge management and strategic communications.
  • Experience with program management and metric development and tracking.
  • Experience independently liaising with program/business, information technology, and information security personnel to identify privacy risks at all stages of system and program development, and collaboratively develop mitigation strategies.
  • Experience employing a wide range of methods for the assessment and improvement of complex programs, processes, and systems; operational knowledge of databases, spreadsheets, tracking and document management programs to write, analyze, and edit documentation that specifically relates to privacy issues.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain client security credentials.


Other Qualifications:



  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office 365 including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
  • Proficiency and strength in verbal, written, computer, presentation, and communications skills.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Senior level professional able to work independently to accomplish complex assignments associated with leading projects and/or leading large, complex projects.
  • Program Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
  • Experience with FOIA implementation in a federal agency.
  • Experience with applied privacy policy and theory in the federal government sector, including experience in the identification of privacy enhancing operations and technologies; implementing privacy policies and compliance frameworks; and understanding of the form and function of privacy impact assessments (PIAs), system of record notices (SORNs), and privacy threshold analyses (PTAs), and other analysis documents to promote privacy protections within new and existing information systems and programs.
  • Knowledgeable in the mission of respective areas and considered a Subject Matter Expert in the ICE overall mission.
  • Private Sector Privacy experience.
  • Work experience in a fast-paced law enforcement or DoD operational environment with constantly evolving priorities to meet mission objectives.
  • Current certification from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).
