*This is a fully remote position. The ideal candidate resides in Orlando or Central Florida*
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for managing the relationships related to assigned Walk to Defeat ALS and Distinguished ALS events in Florida. This role will report to and work closely with the Director of Development and the rest of the Development team to host events that deliver fundraising and budgeted goals by successfully recruiting and stewarding event participants.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Recruit and support volunteer-led event committees for Walk to Defeat ALS and Distinguished ALS events to plan and grow these programs.
  • Responsible for recruitment, stewardship, and coaching of peer-to-peer event participants to build relationships for the Association.
  • Assist event participants with fundraising websites, general inquiries, and other needs.
  • In collaboration with the Director of Development, analyze and report on event performance to grow future monetary totals and attendance.
  • Monitor and operate within budget parameters for all events and activities.
  • Attending and assisting community fundraisers benefiting the Association as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Development, Embedded Territory staff to manage a pipeline of partnerships.
  • Perform general administrative responsibilities concerning the Walk to Defeat ALS including, but not limited to, data entry and management, phone calls, prepping materials, mailings, office clean up, etc.
  • Maintain proficient knowledge of the organization's mission, history, programs, and impact.
  • Collaborate with the team to manage data entry, maintenance, and reports.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree and/or 1-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Development and peer-to-peer fundraising experience.
  • Outgoing personality, ready to build strong relationships with the community.
  • Goal-oriented, self-starter.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Team player, ready to help where needed.
  • Empathetic and understanding of the challenges faced by the ALS community.
  • Ability to connect and communicate with community members from all socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced environment, be flexible, and eager for new challenges.
  • Ability to effectively work remotely and manage in-office work.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with SalesForce, Classy, Luminate is a plus.
  • Success in managing multiple projects and deadlines, excellent organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Will be required to travel within the organization's service area. Willingness to work evenings and weekends for special projects and events. Event attendance is required except under extraordinary circumstances.
  • Must have own transportation and valid driver's license and insurance. Reimbursement for mileage is at the standard IRS rate per mile.
  • Employees should be able to lift 50lbs.

PAY TRANSPARENCY:
The ALS Association's pay range for this positionis$46,346 - $56,894annually.

The ALS Association has compensation ranges for various work locations throughout the United States, allowing us to compensate employees competitively and consistently in diverse geographic markets. The above-listed listed range shows prospective compensation for this role; the appropriate range will be established by what is eventually determined to be the candidate's primary work location. Various factors, including the complexity and significance of the role, job duties/requirements, relevant experience and abilities, and primary work location, determine individual compensation. Compensation ranges are evaluated and typically adjusted on a regular basis. Offers are made within the compensation range that is in effect at the time of the job offer.

The Association may, at its discretion, offer merit-based increases tied to individual performance. The benefits listed may differ depending on employment status with the Association. Healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan with employer match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, well-being benefits, paid time off and several paid holidays are available to Association employees, among other benefits.
