Provide Quality Engineering related support to the Parker Hydraulic Systems Division's FAA Repair Station and Aftermarket Product Support Team in accordance with all applicable company and U.S. Government regulations, policies, and procedures.

As a Quality Engineer in a FAA Repair Station, you will be expected to develop a deep understanding and experience of all Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) for PART 145 as related to quality with a focus on continuous improvement and efficiency. You will be expected to understand and give guidance to Parker team members and Customers related to Parker product conformance based on Parker Engineering, FAA approved technical data, and contractual expectations.

* Disposition nonconforming conditions and major deviations.

* Contribute to test stand and product validation efforts.

* Communicate with internal and external customers effectively and efficiently.

* Collaborate with Repair Station Quality team on the effectiveness of the Repair Station Quality Manual, Repair Station Training Manual, and the AS9100 quality system.

* Participate and occasionally lead customer and regulatory audits.

* Ensure customer, Airworthiness Authority, and Military compliance.

* Liaison between the Repair Station and Product Support Team Part 145 and OEM Engineering and Product Integrity Teams Part 21 organizations.

* Lead investigations and support Root Cause Correction Action (RCCA) for customer reported nonconformances.

* Earn credentials and perform duties associated with certification of new and return to service products. (FAA Repairman and Parker ODA)

* Participate in LEAN Kaizen Activities focused on eliminating waste, improving productivity, and achieving sustained continual improvement.

Education and Experience
Bachelors degree (BS) in Engineering or a related technical discipline. Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through six or more years of related experience. American Society for Quality certification desired.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Thorough knowledge of state-of-the-art inspection and quality inspection and quality engineering/assurance techniques, procedures, instruments, equipment, theories, principles and concepts and general business operations. Knowledge of aerospace industry or similar industry products and legal and regulatory requirements related to field. Ability to effectively assess and implement continuous improvement techniques to quality and manufacturing functions. Ability to use standard business applications software and/or specialized data analysis tools. Ability to work on a variety of problems of diverse scope and complexity where analysis and evaluation of various outcomes require tradeoffs and negotiation. Ability to solve a wide range of difficult problems in imaginative and practical ways and evaluate alternative solutions that may require coordination across multiple teams. Ability to establish goals and objectives to complete projects. Ability to routinely apply project management skills and to effectively use project scheduling computer software programs. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical journals, policies and recommend changes to procedures. Ability to effectively communicate and present information to team members, team leaders, and top management. Ability to respond to significant inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to effectively demonstrate team member competencies and participate in goal-setting, performance feedback, and self-development activities.
TYPICAL MENTAL AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit. The employee frequently is required to use hands to operate a computer and talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Also expected of the employee is regular attendance, the ability to work cooperatively and professionally with others and members of the public, and the ability to manage multiple tasks at once. The employee may be required to travel to vendors or customers including overnight trips.
