We are actively looking for a Senior Water Resources Engineer to lead in expanding our services in the Northern Virginia market. As part of the Water Resources Group, the Senior Water Resources Engineer works with national and regional water leaders to formulate and implement strategies to grow our market share in the stormwater/water resources market.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Lead the growth, innovation, project delivery and client success for M&N's stormwater/water resource business in the Northern Virginia / Northeast markets while working as a team with current regional and national water practice leads
  • Dynamically manage/mentor a team of technical practitioners and mid-level "seller-doers"
  • Develop new client relationships and enhance existing ones
  • Oversee delivery of stormwater/water resources projects of the highest quality for our clients
  • Identify personnel to recruit to help capture and deliver projects for these market sectors

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Water Resources Engineering; required
  • Master's degree in Civil or Water Resources Engineering; preferred
  • Professional Engineering License (PE) in Virginia or ability to receive via reciprocity with in 6 months; required
  • 15+ years of professional experience related to water resources or stormwater engineering; required
  • Strong client and project delivery experience in the Stormwater/Water Resources market sector. State/Local Municipal experience preferred
  • Understanding of the appropriate regional stormwater/water resources market, including FEMA flood hazard mitigation/funding, conveyance systems, resilience planning, stormwater management as well as other industry trends, drivers, and clients
  • Technical understanding of stormwater/water resources, drainage/surface water, and flood management
  • Demonstrated experience of leadership, personal accountability, persistence and being goal-oriented
  • Commitment to internal and external client service
  • Motivational; innovative mindset; excellent leadership and mentoring/teaching skills; collaborative, drives consensus
  • Strong communication skills
  • All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171

Working conditions:

Majority of work is office based. Some site visits may be required which may necessitate navigating unpaved or natural terrain while carrying equipment.
