Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) to join our Colorectal/MIS (Minimally Invasive Surgery) team. The ideal candidate will have experience and expertise in providing acute care to patients undergoing colorectal surgeries and minimally invasive procedures.

Responsibilities:




  • Collaborate with our team of surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care in the colorectal/MIS specialty.
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including pre-operative evaluations, post-operative care, and management of acute and chronic conditions related to colorectal surgery.
  • Assist in surgical procedures, perform invasive procedures as necessary, and provide post-operative care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Prescribe medications, order diagnostic tests, and interpret results to develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans for patients.
  • Participate in patient education and counseling regarding their condition, treatment options, and post-operative care.
  • Contribute to ongoing quality improvement initiatives and research projects within the colorectal/MIS department.



Qualifications:




  • Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Current certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or other recognized certifying body.
  • Active licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) and Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the state of Maryland (or eligibility for licensure).
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Nurse Practitioner in acute care, preferably in colorectal surgery or a related field.
  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge of acute care management principles, with proficiency in colorectal surgical techniques and minimally invasive procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and provide compassionate care to patients.
