Job Description Summary:

The Tailored Systems Business Area within Electronics Program Office directorate delivers first-of-a-kind field-ready microelectronics solutions in support of National Security missions.

The Draper team is chartered with supporting the Nation's most challenging problems by 1) providing an iterative and agile approach to innovative and creative technical solutions delivered at the speed of mission and 2) driving leading edge technology development efforts to support future mission needs.

This role will support a large multi-disciplinary team as part of a long-standing, fast-paced contract with history of immense success. Apply to be part of this incredibly talented and dedicated Draper team!

. Specific responsibilities include the following:

*Collaborate with hardware and software design teams to ensure designs are testable and provide feedback throughout the design process
*Contribute to system concepts and architectures that promote design-for-test capabilities
*Take mission focused requirements and develop them into a testable set of requirements
*Develop the requisite test to verify the requirements including but not limited to ATP, DVT and qualification testing
*Serve as system integrators and execute system validation activities
*Coordinate and lead a team of 3 - 5 individual contributors to plan, execute, and document development and production testing in accordance with program objectives and requirements
*Performs other duties as assigned

Job Description:

Duties/Responsibilities
* Able to take ownership of assignments and guide others as needed; successfully lead tasks while tracking priorities, scope, cost and schedule.
* Derive plans, approaches, procedures for solving complex I&T problems across a program lifecycle, capturing all assumptions and adapting appropriately to changes in requirements with limited direction.
* Independently contributes high quality content for technical reports and presentations which shows an understanding of their task and an awareness of the intended audience. Demonstrates both confidence and success when presenting technical information during meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
* Identify program/system-level technical risks and develop and execute mitigation strategies.
* Actively mentor less experienced engineers and provide thoughtful, constructive feedback
* Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills/Abilities
* Curiosity-driven approach to solving complex, industry and customer-driven problems as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
* Collaborate and communicate effectively and openly with multi-disciplinary program team members. program leadership, and non-technical personnel
* Be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to balance multiple competing tasks and demands.

Education
Requires a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Applied Physics, or related field.

Experience
Requires 5-7 years in Systems Engineering or relevant role.

Additional Job Description:

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in fast paced development environments
  • Experience interfacing with, operating, and troubleshooting environmental test equipment (rate tables, shakers, impact testers, thermal, humidity, and pressure chambers)
  • Experience automating and optimizing test infrastructure and processes
  • Experience with Python and test scripting

Applicants selected for this position will be required to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.

Current in scope Top Secret security clearance is required.
