Supply Planning Supervisor

Position Summary:

The Supply Planning Supervisor is responsible for leading and supporting the supply and inventory planning teams, including distribution center escalation contact and support of inbound freight management, balanced inventory levels, purchase order execution, and supplier collaboration. Other areas of focus will be on ensuring department goals are met, analyzing data, implementing improvements, standardizing protocols, creating training programs, developing people, and supporting ongoing projects. The role will support the Supply Manager, US Supply Chain in strategy creation and execution while collaborating with the other team leaders across the department.

Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:

  • Provide leadership, mentoring, development, and coaching to supply and inventory planning teams.
  • Ensure department performance goals are met; Perform analysis on KPIs (order changes, short lead times, and transfers)
  • Create a culture of innovation and data driven processes to support customer initiatives and MB strategic plans.
  • Continuously assess inventory planning for process improvements to successfully manage the complexity of the customer's needs.
  • Provide oversight on potential liability, overstocks, system maintenance, and ordering parameters to ensure team is executing.
  • Proactively participate in identifying opportunities for process improvement & developing solutions
  • Support and execute change management.
  • Support supply planner to drive supplier collaboration including issue escalation and resolution.
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead weekly team meetings.
  • Act as escalation contact for Supply and Inventory Planners and Distribution Centers
  • Assist in weekend, vacation, and holiday coverage as needed.
  • Other projects or duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree and at least 3 years of supply chain planning or related experience OR a High School Diploma and at least 6 years of supply chain planning or related experience.
  • Proven analytical, organization, and time management skills.
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Strong computer skills - including Excel, Word, knowledge of JDA an asset.
  • Proven ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and multitask.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong team player
  • This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business (preference for a supply chain degree)
  • Supply Chain or Procurement certification and/or experience.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (JDE)
  • Proficiency in forecasting and planning systems (JDA or similar)
  • Proven mentoring, coaching, and development skills
