JOB DESCRIPTION
FOX News is on the hunt for a stellar Broadcast Production Engineer to work in our Washington DC bureau. This role involves providing support and routine compliance for our substantial media and broadcast systems within a competitive, live, 24/7 news environment. As a cornerstone of our Production Engineering team, within the Broadcast and Media Technology group, you'll coordinate with various engineering teams, providing support to IT groups/helpdesk, broadcast production, technical operation personnel, and network operations aggregations. As our ideal candidate, you are enthused about broadcast engineering/IT and comfortable acclimating to evolving media technologies, concepts, and trends such as Media over IP, Cloud Computing, and Radio Workflows. A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Support infrastructure for on-air broadcast production systems Oversee studio operations including video walls, video processing systems, and cameras Supervise live control room production systems and subsystems Handle infrastructure systems like routers, intercom, monitoring, KVM, audio suites, and live production-related equipment Provide maintenance and support for off-site remote locations including the White House, Capitol Hill, etc. Address, communicate, manage, and track technical issues in a live 24/7 production environment Perform maintenance of subsystems including software and hardware updates, modifications, and replacements as warranted Develop and retain process benchmarks for deployment and support documentation for operations Collaborate on a team that works hands-on with the latest generation of production systems and technologies Work on complex audio processing tasks and Audio-over-IP setups including gating, compression, equalization of talent microphone audio, and multi-band processing of outbound audio programming using Orban processors Set up up small Dante audio networks
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or related majors, or equivalent experience 5+ years' experience in broadcast production and live television Extensive knowledge of standards like SMPTE for broadcast television and video environments Strong technical skills in troubleshooting and repairing broadcast equipment Aptitude to troubleshoot traditional SDI and IP audio/video signal routing environments Familiarity with studio technologies including video walls, cameras, VR set technologies, image processing systems, touch screens, and lighting Solid understanding of production control automation (e.g., Ross Overdrive) and Newsroom Computer System (NRCS) workflows Proficiency in MS Windows workstation and server platforms Experience with file-based workflows and knowledge of enterprise Media Asset Management systems (e.g. Dalet) Ability to interpret technical documentation standards Demonstrated working knowledge of IT/networking theory, topology, and best practices Ability to handle multiple tasks independently and as part of a team. Aptitude to work a flexible schedule based on the needs of a live production environment, including overtime, holidays, weekends Capability to remove, lift, and replace equipment in racks as warranted Experience operating manual and electric mechanical tools is required

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $45.50-63.75 per hour for Washington, D.C. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
