MUST:

Experienced Cardiovascular Technologist

Associate's degree

EKG/hemodynamic monitoring

Minimum of six months as a cardiovascular technologist, or similar job experience

Bachelor's degree preferred

Additional exposure preferred

RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) or RCVT - Registered Cardiovasc Tech

PRT - Practical Radiology Technician Registered Radiology Tech (RT)

BLS (Basic Life Support)

Health Services / ACLS

DUTIES:

Performs assorted patient care responsibilities for adults such as starting IV's, EKG monitoring, cardiac outputs, and prepping and draping patients

Assists with cardiovascular invasive procedures such as; R & L heart catheterizations, PTCA, intra-aortic-balloon pump, permanent/temporary pacemakers, AICD, electrophysiology studies, pericardiocentesis, peripheral arteriograms and angioplasty, etc.

Performs quality control functions of the X-ray console/equipment before procedures

Runs tapes, Digital Subtraction Acquisition, and image processing

Assists physician during the procedure

Removes/ pulls arterial and venous sheaths from patient after procedure and apply appropriate manual pressure

Records and interprets hemodynamic data using Sensis's monitoring system. Prepares all the equipment, sets up the field for all cases and cleans room for the next procedure.

Participates in the orientation, training and in-services for cardiovascular technologists and other staff in the department

Assists with the inventory, ordering and stocking of supplies and equipment for the Cath Lab
