The Children's Hospital at Montefiore (CHAM) is seeking outstanding investigators with mixed methods/qualitative

research methods expertise at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor (MD, PhD, RN-PhD) to join the Department

of Pediatrics as we expand our research programs. We seek motivated candidates who have demonstrated a high level

of scholarship, including successful acquisition of funding and an ongoing commitment to research (e.g., clinical

research, health services or outcomes research, implementation science, community-based research). Competitive

candidates will have formal training in qualitative and mixed methods research. Montefiore/Albert Einstein College of

Medicine seeks candidates whose skills and personal and professional experience have prepared them to contribute to

our commitment to diversity, excellence and the communities we serve. The successful candidate will receive an

academic appointment at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

Key responsibilities include:

* Advise on best practices when considering qualitative and mixed methods designs in grant applications.

* Mentor junior investigators on using qualitative and mixed methods research.

* Collaborate with other investigators on manuscripts and grant applications using qualitative and mixed

methods designs.

* Act as a thought leader in qualitative and mixed methods research.

* Maintain an independent research portfolio.

Competitive candidates will have the following qualifications:

* Extensive experience using qualitative and mixed methods in research.

* Demonstrated success in designing and implementing NIH-funded qualitative or mixed-methods research (for

your own grants or assisting other investigators).

* Excellent communication skills and ability to teach and mentor junior investigators applying qualitative and

mixed methods in their research.

* Strong commitment to collaborative research and willingness to be a team player in different areas of research.

* Experience using a range of qualitative data collection methods and qualitative data analysis approaches.

* Experience using NVivo, AtlasTi, Dedoose or other computer-assisted qualitative data analysis software.

* Experience in pediatric or adolescent research preferred but not required.

The Department of Pediatrics is composed of 389 Montefiore and Einstein faculty with 72 faculty in our affiliated

hospitals, organized into 18 divisions covering all of the pediatric subspecialties in conjunction with several key

surgical services. CHAM and Einstein provide a collaborative environment for multidisciplinary research among

faculty. CHAM investigators are engaged in basic as well as clinical/translational research, health services research,

comparative effectiveness research and quality improvement science. With a total grant portfolio exceeding $50 million

in 2023, CHAM investigators are pioneering new approaches and therapies to prevent and treat chronic pediatric

conditions, such as asthma, obesity, autism and sickle cell disease as well as life-threatening diseases of childhood,

including cancer, neonatal lung diseases and infectious diseases.

In addition to a competitive salary of $175,000-$300,000 commensurate with academic rank and clinical subspecialty,
