Our Company The challenge Join our group of attorneys and paralegals who provide legal counsel to the business teams at Adobe that market and sell Adobe's most well-known offings: Creative Cloud and Document Cloud. We are seeking a hardworking, positive, and high-energy lawyer to work with a team of wonderful people (and legal professionals) who support the go-to-market efforts of these businesses. This senior counsel-level role will work closely with senior go-to-market business leaders, product marketing, commerce engineering, payments, and marketing teams, as well as colleagues in Legal, to provide counseling on a range of legal topics. You will be based in San Jose, CA, or San Francisco, CA and will report to our Senior Director, Associate General Counsel and will help advance our clients' business objectives while handling legal risk. What you'll do Support, build, and maintain positive relationships with Adobe's go-to-market teams, commerce platform team, and the Adobe.com team. Advise on compliance with US and international laws and regulations associated with abroad range of legal subjects including consumer protection, truth in advertising, licensing, e-commerce, education, privacy, and marketing; advise clients of rights, obligations and risks, and provide interpretation of terms and conditions. Collaborate with our clients who build the products and services that we sell to consumers, small-medium businesses, and enterprises, advise on the related revenue driving initiatives to assess legal compliance and provide practical advice. Apply a practical and well-balanced perspective to legal issues that arise when marketing, selling, and distributing our products and services around the world. Provide strategic and business legal support for internal clients, including counseling, negotiation and drafting of agreements and other legal documents. Handle cross-functional matters, and address policy initiatives. Think and act strategically working with the business, in your role, with the team, and on priorities to develop solutions to non-standard business and legal issues with senior management review. Consistently identify and communicate process gaps and other change opportunities including finding efficiencies; and foster a positive and welcoming environment so that others can operate in a safe space to identify new ideas, methods, and processes. Think ahead and "see around the corner" to anticipate risk and manage it in time proactively implement change. What you need to succeed 8+ years of relevant in-house legal experience, with a predominant focus in the tech industry. Significant experience supporting online services, e-commerce, marketing, and consumer protection matters across many jurisdictions around the world. Expert at drafting all types of technology licensing agreements, payment related agreements, online services agreements, and terms of use for online services. Demonstrated ability to succinctly frame complex legal issues and communicate effectively with multiple levels of management. CIPP and CISSP certifications are a plus. Must work well on a team and with people at all levels in the organization. Commitment to providing clients with high-quality and timely legal advice in a fast-paced work environment, with a strong customer focus. Demonstrated ability to think and act strategically, be a creative problem solver, have excellent business instincts, and drive to provide practical solutions. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this positionis $158,200 -- $303,400 annually. Paywithin this range varies by work locationand may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills,and experience. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP). In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
