Job Description

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Missouri-Columbia is seeking a Division Chief of Pediatric Genetics. This physician leader will play an integral role in the Department of Pediatrics by leading administrative, clinical, and educational activities for the division and serving on the Department executive team. With the opening of the new Children's Hospital in 2024, the division chief will play an important role in re-establishing the position of the division as market leader in the region and in planning the expansion of outreach services across the state.

The Division Chief's responsibilities include:

  • Leading the division's clinical, research and educational services
  • Fostering the growth and expansion of Pediatric Genetics programs
  • Expanding both the clinical and interdisciplinary research programs
  • Supervision of Division staff including physicians, Advanced Practice Professionals, and support staff

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • MD/DO
  • Board certified in Genetics

Candidates will be evaluated on:

  • Demonstrated success in leadership roles
  • The ability to lead a diverse group in clinical, research, and teaching programs
  • Work collaboratively with hospital and academic department partners
  • Ability to successfully mentor junior faculty
  • A commitment to excellence in patient care
  • Experience with Strategic Growth, Budgeting, and Resource Management
