Position Summary |
The Department of Cell Biology and Physiology and the Department of Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invite applications for an open-rank, tenure-track faculty position. The successful candidate must have an exceptional record of publications in leading peer-reviewed journals, a well-defined research vision, and will be expected to establish and maintain an innovative, externally funded research program. We will consider any qualified candidates working with mammalian models, organoid culture systems, or human IPSCs. Research areas of particular interest include inflammatory bowel disease, lipoprotein formation, absorption and regulation, specialized immune cell functions and the intersection of intestinal biology with cardiovascular metabolism, but outstanding work in any area of gastrointestinal physiology will be considered. The Department of Cell Biology and Physiology (http://www.med.unc.edu/physiolo) and the UNC Department of Medicine (https://www.med.unc.edu/medicine/gi/) provide outstanding environments for ground breaking research and career development. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
Applicants should have a PhD, MD, or MD/PhD degree. |
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
Candidates must have a history of successful research in gastrointestinal physiology and demonstrate a high capacity to receive external, independent funding. |
