Daikin Applied is seeking a Project Engineering Manager in our Jersey City, NJ office! As the Manager of the Project Engineering team in the Direct Sales Office, this position manages the after-sale delivery of equipment products, accessories, and services sold by the DSO. Oversees estimating, submittal, order entry, release, delivery, and financial elements of customer orders. Works closely with the Branch or District Sales Managers in coordinating the project management, project costing and order management functions. Location: Hybrid, in Jersey City, NJ office.

What you will do:



  • Selects, leads, directs, evaluates, and develops a team of project engineers to ensure that projects are completed on-time, within budget, and according to project specifications.
  • Prioritizes tasks and assigns team members to multiple engineering projects to ensure that the team's overall resources are used effectively and that project deadlines are met.
  • Ensures financial integrity of selling transactions, including but not limited to: managing pricing accuracy and booking, forecasting of secured projects, and compliance with applicable policy and procedure.
  • Engage necessary departments, the factory and/or vendors to resolve operational problems and minimize delays, including evaluating and authorizing changes that significantly impact the scope, budget, or timeline of the project.
  • Measures, analyzes, and presents annual revenue and gross margin forecasts as well as year-to-date updates on performance, monthly close P&L, booking and shipments, commission statements, and backlog summaries.
  • Ensures all established processes are met. Periodically reviews operations to maintain continuous improvement, as well as identifying and resolving operational problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
  • Using direct and indirect supervision, monitors and develops Project Engineering (PE) staff, preparing quarterly reviews to ensure each PE is on track to meet or exceed goals. Creates and monitors performance development plans as necessary.
  • Trains and ensures all assigned employees are aware of and comply with company, government and customer policies, procedures and regulations.

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • 5+ years of related experience and/or training
  • 3+ years of team management experience
  • Prior experience within the commercial HVAC industry

The typical annual base salary for this position ranges from $135,000 - $150,000 plus annual bonus plan in New Jersey. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
